Bookkeeping for Contractors

Job-costed books that tell you which projects actually made money

Most contractors know their revenue and have no idea about their margin. We keep your books clean, cost every job, and hand you a monthly report you can actually run the business from — plus a year-end package your CPA will thank you for.

What you'll know by the 10th of every month

Margin by job

Which jobs, crews, and job types are profitable — and which ones are quietly losing money.

Cash position and runway

What's in the bank, what's owed to you, what you owe, and whether you can make payroll in 30 days.

Tax exposure

A running estimate of what to set aside, so quarterly payments and year-end don't surprise you.

What's included every month

Built for insurance-funded construction — deductibles, depreciation, supplements, and retainage handled correctly.

Monthly bookkeeping

Transactions categorized, bank and card accounts reconciled, books closed on schedule.

Job costing

Labor, materials, subs, and equipment tied to each job so margin is real, not a guess.

AR and AP management

Invoices sent, bills scheduled, aging reviewed — and a handoff to our Collections team when a balance stalls.

Payroll coordination

Hours and job codes prepared for your payroll provider; entries booked to the right jobs.

Monthly P&L and cash-flow report

A plain-English summary of what happened and what to watch, not just a spreadsheet.

Receipt and document capture

Snap it, forward it, forget it. We match receipts to transactions.

Quarterly tax estimates

What to set aside and pay each quarter, coordinated with your CPA.

Year-end CPA package

Clean books, 1099 prep, and supporting schedules delivered before your accountant asks.

Frequently asked questions

Which software do you use?

We work primarily in QuickBooks Online and connect to the job-management tools most restoration and roofing companies already use. If you're on something else, ask — we'll tell you honestly whether we can support it or recommend a switch.

Do you do taxes?

We prepare clean books, quarterly estimates, and a year-end package, and coordinate directly with your CPA or tax preparer so filing is simple. We don't replace your tax professional — we make their job easier.

My books are a mess. Can you catch me up?

Yes. Cleanup and catch-up projects are quoted separately based on how many months are behind, then you move to the monthly service.

How is this different from a general bookkeeper?

We work only with contractors and restoration companies, so we already understand deductibles, recoverable depreciation, supplements, retainage, and job costing — things a general bookkeeper usually has to learn on your dime.

What does it cost?

A flat monthly fee tiered by transaction volume and number of active jobs, quoted after a look at your current setup. Bundled pricing is available with Collections and Process Automation.

How do we get started?

A short call to look at your current setup, then read-only access to your accounting software and bank feeds. Most clients are fully onboarded within a few weeks.
